Warspite Lake

When we planned this hike I honestly didn’t think the lake would be not only frozen solid, but completely covered in snow! When hiking in the spring you have to except a certain level of snow, but I thought at least some of the lake would be melted by this point! We did the hike in late May, so if you are hoping to get a glimpse of the waters I highly recommend waiting until at least the middle of June!

Even with all the snow, the hike was still awesome! It is pretty short, about 5km round trip. You climb a bit of a hill at the beginning but for the most part there is very minimal elevation gain. Great hike is you have young kids with you.

As always, make sure you dress appropriately and be ready for anything the outdoors can throw at you. Weather can be unpredictable and change at any minute. Respect the wildlife by staying at appropriate distances and stay on the trails in order to preserve the forest! For more information on each hike you can check them out on AllTrails.
